Terms of reference
The terms of reference are instructions which explain what a committee has been asked to do, what topics it should focus on, and how its members will work together to achieve its shared goals.
27 May 2015:
That pursuant to Sessional Order 6 this House requires:
the Environment and Planning Committee as part of its oversight of Local Government Victoria, to inquire into and report every six months on the outcome of the State Government policy of local government rate capping on councils’ viability, service impacts on local communities and impacts on the provision of local infrastructure.
27 November 2017:
The Legislative Council has amended the terms of reference for the Inquiry into Rate Capping policy and as a result the Committee will produce one final report by 30 September 2018.
The scheduled six monthly reports will now not be tabled.
